What is Wan 2.5?
Wan 2.5 is an AI video generation model from Alibaba's Tongyi Lab, and the first in the Wan (Tongyi Wanxiang) family with native audio: score, sound effects and lip-synced speech are generated in the same pass as the picture.
Released in September 2025, Wan 2.5 made the family famous for sound-on video, and it remains the best value model on Wan Studio, it's the one on the free tier. Developers can also call it through the Wan API.
